Newpark Music Centre is one of the largest and most recognised music educational institutions in Dublin offering individual & group classes for everyone.

Our mission is to provide quality music education for children and adults, to strive for excellence while focusing on enjoyment, to train both recreational and professional musicians and to foster a love of music in both. Founded in 1979 to provide much needed music school facilities in south Dublin, Newpark Music Centre now caters for over 1000 students and is one of the largest private music schools in Dublin.

Lessons in a wide range of instruments and styles are available with experienced and dedicated teachers available each day to cover all needs. For organisational ease, instruments are categorised into 4 departments; piano, strings, wind/brass/voice/percussion with the fourth department comprising of junior and leaving certificate as well as graded theory classes.

Music and Art, Creativity and Performance

A week of discovering music and art through play and performance!

Our creative, fiveday Summer Music Camp for kids aged 8-14 begins on July 4^th and run to 8^th of July. The course, run by our music teachers: Julie Shanley, Elisabeth Richers-Byrne, and Liz O’Neill, offers a mixture of ensemble work in varying groups, music games, music listening exercises in Kokas style, guess masterclasses, theory music lesson through play and experience-based learning. We aim to nurture a creativity and originality in kids with different starting points and through mixed media such as painting and drawing.

No experience required.

All teachers are garda vetted.

Newpark’s SUMMER ROCK SCHOOL is the most modern, jam-packed music course for young musicians. Run by Rockjam, the young musicians are coached by Professional Musicians who guide them through a week of rehearsals, lessons, workshops, a video shoot and lots of special musical treats.

Parent And Toddler Class is a gentle introduction to music, percussion, storytelling and rhythm for children ages 5 months to 3 years accompanied by an adult.

For young musicians beginning instrumental studies, our Gateway classes provide a logical extension from the very popular Gateway to Music pre-instrumental programme. Gateway to Piano, Gateway to Recorder and Gateway to Violin classes are structured in a shared environment with students discovering their instrument of choice through child-centered lessons, shared with another of similar age.

Music is a social activity, and ensemble playing is central to all aspects of music. At Newpark we have several ensembles (wind, strings, recorder, voice) in which we encourage our students to partake.

Jazz Improvisation course is aimed at providing practical experience and guidance for group playing. The course also deals with aspects of interpretation, style and all-round musicianship aimed at providing a thorough musical training for all aspiring jazz musicians.
